Peace be still…..(Mark 4:39)
Peace I give to you….(John 14:27)
Be still and know that I am God….(Psalm 46:10)
All of these scriptures are speaking to my heart this morning. Busy lives, busy season, busy…busy…busy.
Life can be so rushed, hurried and at times it feels as if I am gasping to catch a breath in the chaotic hustle and bustle around me. Stores are bombarded with shoppers. Roads are filled with drivers hurrying to get to their destination. People are rushing to and fro.
Schedules to be met, not enough hours in the day, and too many responsibilities at one time.
Today I feel like a juggler who has multiple plates being balanced at one time. Ever watching that one plate not fall, dropping to the ground and break into multiple pieces. In the midst of focusing on the plates, I’m missing opportunities to fellowship with God.
Today, I hear the whisper of my Father to my soul saying,
“Peace be still, Kristin. Peace I give to you, my daughter. Be still in the midst of busyness and know that I am God. I have your life in my hands. I am in control of all the universe. Come to me, my weary daughter and I will give you rest.”
As the Father speaks to my heart, I can feel my flesh saying, “Yes, but I have so much to do. I have so much to take care of. I have to make sure none of the plates fall.” I feel my eyes being pulled back to the plates, to the responsibilities, to all that needs to get done.
The Father reminds me of Psalm 91,
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
My eyes go back to my source, my strength, my peace….They go back to Jesus. It’s not about all that needs to be done this day. It’s about resting under the covering of the Almighty God!
Today I encourage you to pull yourself away from all that “needs to be done” and focus on the giver of life, our refuge and strong tower, Jesus.
Do you hear the Father speaking to your heart right now?
Peace be still…
Peace I give to you….
Be still and know that I am God…
